Laptop Prices Down

When considering buying a computer it’s important to think about the future.
The HP laptop above has enough storage space (Hard Drive 320 GB) to store 100,000 high quality photographs along with years of household accounts. It is designed to deliver the best available internet speeds for the next five years – which will treble by 2016.
It has
an integrated webcam for easy worldwide video chat with friends and family.
It has enough random access memory (3 GB of RAM) to run several different programs
at the same time. So you can shop-on-line at Sainsburys and speak to the grand-kids in Australia at the same time.
Using the Skype internet system a telephone call to anywhere in the world costs around 2p per minute!

Whatever make of computer you buy

make sure it has the following:

  • Genuine Windows® 7. This is the latest operating system.

  • 3 GB of RAM. This makes sure everything runs at a reasonable speed.
  • A Hard Drive of 320 GB. An average user will find this enough storage space.
  • A DVD Writer (for playing films and making videos).
  • 3 or more USB 2.0 ports for your memory sticks, mouse, printers, scanners ect..
  • A 3-in-1 memory card reader, for your camera(s).
  • An RJ45 Ethernet cable connection. This connects you to the internet.

  • 802.11n WLAN. This connects you to the internet using radio (wireless) signals.
  • 3 - 4 hours battery life.

Castle Community Office has seen a lot of second-hand laptops that proved a disappointment. For this reason we suggest a new computer is always the best buy.
